The Grades listed below are fun and energetic with new combinations of steps, which challenge the dancer and provide them with a good basic knowledge of Ballet Technique.
These classes follow the RAD ballet syllabus in the
three disciplines: Ballet , Free movement and Character. These are to
develop the basic principles of classical ballet technique and the
recorded orchestral music inspires students to dance, giving them a
chance to develop their performance skills.
Students will be entered for RAD examinations when they have achieved the standard required.
continue to follow the RAD ballet syllabus building on techniques to
include pirouettes, adage and allegro. Students are given the
opportunity to develop their dance skills in the various styles which
include working with props and performing Flamenco, Tarantella,
Hungarian, Russian and Polish dances. Students will continue to be
entered for RAD examinations.
grades were developed for students who wished to continue dancing as a
hobby and they are an alternative to the Vocational Classes. Many
students choose to do these grades as well as the Vocational Classes.
They focus on performance and each grade is based on a romantic
classical ballet i.e. Giselle, La Sylphide and Les Sylphide. They
continue to incorporate the three disciplines of ballet, free movement
and character. Students are entered for exams as appropriate.
This is a non-syllabus class for teenagers wishing to start ballet or returning to ballet after a few years away. There is the option to move into a graded ballet class after 2-3 terms on the recommendation of the teacher.
